LinkedIn is explicitly reducing AI slop.
In July 2026, LinkedIn product chief Hari Srinivasan said the platform was expanding classifiers for AI slop and generally low-quality content, allowing members to report posts that seem like AI slop, and testing private creator feedback when posts feel inauthentic or heavily AI-assisted. He also drew the crucial line: AI and slop are not the same thing.
What makes a LinkedIn post sound human?
Human-sounding does not mean deliberately messy. It means the post carries information and judgment that belong to a real author.
A detail that can be checked
Use a number, named customer situation, dated moment, direct quotation, or visible product behavior. Specifics create accountability; vague confidence does not.
A perspective someone stands behind
State what you observed, changed your mind about, tested, or would do differently. First-person language alone is not enough; the judgment must be real.
The actual tension first
Remove warm-up phrases such as “in today’s fast-paced world.” Lead with the result, contradiction, mistake, or question the rest of the post resolves.
Language this author uses
Keep precise terms, sentence rhythms, and convictions from the speaker. Do not manufacture slang, typos, or aggression as artificial proof of humanity.
How to make an AI-assisted LinkedIn post sound less generic.
Do not solve generic copy by swapping synonyms. Rebuild the post around one piece of evidence and one owned conclusion.
- 1Write the source sentence yourself
State what happened, what surprised you, and why it matters before asking a model to organize anything.
- 2Add the receipt
Include the product behavior, customer wording, experiment condition, or measured outcome that supports the point.
- 3Remove transferable language
Delete any sentence a competitor could publish unchanged. Replace it with your mechanism, constraint, or tradeoff.
- 4Read it aloud
If you would not say the sentence to a colleague, rewrite it in your normal vocabulary before publishing.
LinkedIn AI slop checker questions.
Can this prove that AI wrote a LinkedIn post?
No. It evaluates writing-quality signals, not authorship. Human-written copy can be generic, while AI-assisted copy can be specific and useful.
Does an em dash mean a post was AI-generated?
No. Punctuation is not credible authorship evidence. Evaluate perspective, specificity, supported claims, and whether the language fits the author.
Should I stop using AI for LinkedIn posts?
Not necessarily. Use AI for outlining, editing, or challenge, but keep the observation, judgment, evidence, and final approval with the named author.
